In which becoming a father prompts Steve's thoughts and recollections of his mother.

Note Jesus Christ, when I first set out to write this story...I ain't anticipated how sad this particular chapter would be. Lord have mercy, it was a lot of crying. A lot of sniffling. Just a lot of emotional labor, more than I thought I'd have to expend.

But I got through it; I did it. And I do think that...now that this chapter is done, the rest of the story should be a bit easier to write. Still gonna cry, but not as much, y'know?
