...Is when Mommy brings home an IV bag, IV line, & piggyback/pickup line from her work to show me, in very brief detail, how they work!

She showed me how & why to activate the clamp (it's basically a little rolly thingie on the IV line that you roll over to ensure that the IV bag doesn't start dripping...all over the floor or, worse, all over you & the patient); not to freak out when opening the little opening-thingie on the end of the IV bag because it's still sealed & so you gotta puncture it with the actual IV line; where the piggyback would go, which is kind of on the side of the IV line.

The main thing that I had trouble with? Mommy taught me to "prime my line", which means getting rid of any air bubbles that may be in the tubing because you don't. Want. Any. Air. To go. Into. A patient's. vein. Because. Ouch. So you prime the line by letting a lil bit of the saline in the bag go through the tubing...but it wasn't happening because I forgot to roll back the clamp, haha! But as soon as I rolled it back, there came the saline drip, drip, dripping! Yay!

So yeah, it was pretty fun and cool. Ahhh, I love learning new things! ^ ^
