So this past Saturday, I went on a trip to Charleston, SC with my mom and…gracious me, it was a lot of fun and I can’t believe my mom didn’t cancel it on me.

Wow. Just…wow.


P.S I got me some brand new Vans, too! A blue pair and a red pair. Yaaay!! :D :D

My mother was the one to check the mailbox today and she gave this to me as soon as I rolled over and woke up this morning-that-was-almost-afternoon. It...it was a wonderful surprise after waking up from a pretty good dream where I was a nurse teaching a student.

Ya'll, I done listened to the new Can You Feel the Love Tonight, with Beyonce and that coon ass Donald Glover. I also saw a video of the sequence for Hakuna Matata.

On the first song I mentioned...Donald can neither keep up with Bey nor can he blend his voice well with hers. It's part of why so many fans are already demanding a Beyonce-only version to listen to.

And then the second song...apparently you can put just about any other song over the scene of Simba, Timon, and Pumba and you wouldn't know it was that particular song sequence.

Like...I ain't even gonna link to either one of these songs because damn. We been knew these remakes weren't all that and a bag of chips, but my goodness.

I'm like...first live action!Aladdin has white actors in brownface and we been guessed.

And now I'm like ya'll niggas really done messed up The Lion King, my goodness. Ya'll niggas barely even tried.

Hey, ya’ll.

Mama was in a car accident today-she got hit by a freakin’ young driver speeding in a red sports car.

Our SUV is perfectly fixable-just gotta fix his grill/face and drive a rental in the meantime. It’s the other woman’s fault, so all of this is coming out of her insurance (I am gleeful about her future premiums) and Mama is not at all injured. Just shaking and shocked. She’s coming down, though.

We really, really didn’t need this, but we’re alright. We’re pulling through.

Just keep us in your thoughts if you can spare, huh?

-Ellis and the Magic Mirror, by Cerece & Aryeh Rennie Murphy (It seems to be a junior novel with plenty of art that's the cutest you've ever seen!!)

-Malice in Ovenland comic book, by Micheline Hess


It all looks & is absolutely wonderful...although Imma be honest with you all and confess that I haven't read any of it.

I haven't read any more than I've really written.

I'm trying, though, ya'll. I'm trying to go as fast & as well as I can to recover from this shit nervous breakdown and continue to carve out my path in life. I'm doing the absolute best I can & I deeply appreciate all that you all do for me. Lonespark, thank you so much again for sending me these wonderful gifts!!!

P.S Also, the reason I haven't been around much is because nursing school is just...god, I hate this program. I...don't know if I'll pass this time around and I am beyond exhausted and burnt out.
