Ah, lack of clarity. I didn't mean that first person was a mark of fan fiction, but since Twilight was in first person, I imagined that the first person here was a holdover from it being Twilight fanfic. (I assumed the original version - the fanfic - was in first person because it's, er, parent work was.)
