Me: -literally still stopped in the street, where anybody can hear me- What the hell?! I got bad aim with these jumping, howling animated animals! You want money and/or sweat for a ball? Nigga, I thought it was free, what the…


Aaaaand that is the decisive conclusion that, no matter how many years later, I am still not a Pokemon kid. It was good to walk around outside, tho!

In lighter news, today is BBQ day in my house! Mama’s making us all kinds of meat on the grill (she was lucky to find them-we’re Southern Black And Own A Chest Freezer, so all we really have a shortage of is hamburger).

She’s also made shrimp salad for the first time since I was a kid…it tastes as good as ever! ^ ^

it can be played for free, but they want to bribe you with easier play in exchange for your money. and I know at least one person who got banned from the app for wanting a way to do step-count-needed things without the phone registering step counts: she is a wheelchair user. (whether she's still banned, no idea. whether they've clued in about accessibility, no idea.)

I have heard nothing about any HP game except Hogwarts Mystery, which I did not get very far in before losing interest. my opinions about HP lately are as follows:

• Hermione's black and autistic
• Harry and James have visible South Asian ancestry
• Harry is an utterly oblivious bisexual
• what epilogue?
• Ginny is a trans girl
• JKR and her TERF buddies can all go fuck themselves
• there's only the eight movies and I do not need to see the last three
• LullabyKnell has an awesome take on Delphi and therefore I do not need to read Cursed Child
• Pottermore? what's that?
• the correct response to Silver's dad trying to Sort himself and saying he's not Slytherin because he's not evil is "ExCUSE you!"

Our Silver's dad!

Picture, if you will: a kitchen with two fluorescent ring lights in the ceiling. One is mostly off the ceiling, partly connected by wires. (It's turned off.)

Silver, an incredibly looooooong dragon in fleece lounge pants, is balanced on a short stepstool and trying to twist the wires from the ceiling and the wires from the light back together. Alex, much shorter, is standing on a wooden dining room chair. The mismatch in standing devices puts them at almost the same height. Alex is holding up the lamp.

(Azz is the worst at balance of the household and is on the floor with the flashlight.)

A cheerfully sarcastic voice comes from the top of a wire shelf. It's Silver's Pops, on speakerphone. If Silver is cynical about the world, having seen some shit, then Pops has seen some shit and come out the other side into believing the worst of the human tendency to failure, having a big cup of coffee, and finding it hilarious.

No one falls off the chair. No one drops a screwdriver on a burned out bulb and spreads nasty powder everywhere. No one shocks themselves on the suspiciously old and non-standard colored wires. But we got the impression that Pops has seen every one of those problems and more.

Yeah, it is free, but that really only works if you're somewhere close enough to gather supplies from on the regular, or have enough friends that they can keep you supplied with things on the regular. Otherwise, they want money. Mostly, I use it as an excuse to go places and get my walking in.
