Mama helped a ton last night and overall, the process was a lot easier and quicker than I thought!

I also love the crap out of my new potato mashers! Mama bought me 2 last night and I love them both!! :D :D

Mama helped me boil them and it was great, easy fun to mash them all up in the bowl! Overall, I added half a stick of [salted] butter, garlic powder, 1% milk, some green onions, and some more garlic powder. I also kept the skins as that’s where all your nutrients are the texture is pretty good!

Beside it, Mama and I made fried chicken and steamed broccoli. Yum yum dinner tonight! ^ ^

(…Although I think I could’ve added the whole stick of butter instead of half and a little more garlic powder. It’d be a tad bit more flavorful and wholesome that way…)

(More butter is better when you're making mashed potatoes, almost always.)

Yes.

More milk can sometimes reduce the amount of necessary butter, as can cheese.

But butter is very good.

It looks like a really nice dinner! The broccoli is cooked just right to be bright green. And the green onions make the mashed potato look peppy and yum!

I have a really nice potato masher. It's the type with one metal rod bent into waves for the business end and the handle directly centred over it, and it's shiny. I had the sort with a slotted piece and the handle attached at the side and it kept bending when I pushed down on it, so eventually I got a better one. My potato masher makes me feel happy, and I thought I was a bit odd, but if you're pleased by kitchen implements too, then maybe not!
