See, this is all Red's fault. Red is to blame for this because he said he needed more Rhodey & Sam fanfiction from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

A long, long time ago, I told you all that I'm struggling to get into the groove and write fanfiction. Umm...I have actually been writing and posting fanfiction since last December, 2014.

I have lied to you.

I am so, so sorry (but seriously, this is Red's fault).

And my most recent fanfiction is a sappy, lovey-dovey, smexxy SamSteve (Sam WilsonXSteve Rogers from the Captain America movies) for the SamSteve Gift Exchange, 2015. Alas, you can read it on AO3, where my username is AmarieMelody. How predictable am I?

Did you know I'm big into the MCU right now (as of a month or two ago)? Did you know I re-watched The Winter Soldier last night and loved every moment Steve and Sam were on screen together? Did you know I had vague plans to look for fic with lots of Sam in it, but felt too exhausted after two busy weeks at work to actually go out hunting for it and therefore am very much in need of it turning up in front of my nose with no effort required? You must be a mind-reader *dances all around*

This is a nice long one and I'll take some time to read it but I'll be back to tell you all about how I liked it. So glad you're writing fic, and especially that it's this fandom and these characters!

Oh, should I comment here or there? Anyway, I loved it. I started reading it at breakfast (downloaded, so I could carry the story around with me) and then I couldn't stop thinking about it all morning at work, and then I read some more in the break room and it was the first kiss part that turned me into a snotfountain. Then I couldn't do anything else when I got home after work until I'd finished it, and it made me all happy and wistful and warm.

There is so much love for the characters shining out of every page. <3

Can I use that from time to time, so long as I credit you? 'Cause it's just perfection.) So glad you like it, though! So, so very glad! :D

I hear of people getting in trouble for reading fic at their desks at work - but I don't have that type of job ;) I'm on my feet and it would be a little more obvious! I only read it on my tea break, and nobody noticed if I took an extra five minutes to finish the chapter.

Snotfountains are free for the taking, and I don't begrudge you being the cause of one in the slightest. :)

I work in the post office, starting sorting mail at 6.30am. I need a good breakfast before I do any work, so I eat a big bowl of cereal at 5.30, then have my tea break at 8.30 or 9 before going on my round. Others don't eat before work so they buy something from the cafe to eat at break; I usually just have tea and a small snack. Then I carry trail mix and muesli bars to eat while out and about. On a normal day I finish work about 1pm and go home for lunch; when I have to do overtime I'm entitled to another meal break there. So yeah, I go a while in between proper meals, but I'm eating high-energy foods on the move and making up for it before and after work.

I think I'm going for another helping of my kind boyfriend's spaghetti right this minute ;)

And yeah, I've had at least three people tell me in my comments thread over there that they wanna know what happened/happens to Rhodey & Tony. I...don't yet know if I can pull that off (because, brutally honest, Rhodey is placed as a full character in my story and Tony LITERALLY just came up as a fucking plot point b/c I had to figure out how Steve knows where to go and get cut and, thus, how Tony even shows up). But it's in the file of "Will possibly do!" :D

Aww, thank you! To be brutally honest, one of the most terrifying parts of writing "With Harlem Lights" was the fear of not knowing if anyone would like it. But I'm so glad people are enjoying it! Yep, yep, yep! :D

I just finished your beautiful, soul-wrenching fic and I have to say you are AMAZING.

The Soulmate science weaving into the favorite characters and the real history and the feeling-of-place. I've never been to Harlem but I feel like I could point to the Silver Curtain, even if it was never there in the first place.

And chapter 3? Yeah, I teared up.

Had some fun looking up Harlem slang, too. Thank you - this was an epic ride.
