Selfies Finally!

First, though? Uhh…I’m kinda proud of myself because this is, again, my first ever smartphone and this is my first time taking and posting selfies all by myself. So yay! But also, the light and general quality aren’t really up to par. I tried for over an hour, but no matter how much and in what way I adjusted my settings, I couldn’t get the quality of my previous selfies, which I took with a friend’s phone and help. Blegh. I’m learning and I possibly need tutorials and it may also just be that my phone is not as advanced as hers. I still love my Bleepy, doe. Still lover her very much.

Also note in the selfies: yes, my pink glasses are crooked. Alas, I stepped on them once upon a time and they have yet to ever get back straight. S’alright, doe. S’alright. They still work.

Oh yay, happy to see these!

I hope your phone is not calibrated to take better pictures of white skin, like film used to be. I really hope not, that would be an awful thing for your Bleepy to do to you! The lighting in those just looks all-around bad lighting, which gives me hope that you'll get some better ones another time. Outside in daylight would give the best chances - though when you're holding your phone out in front of you and pulling all sorts of faces, you don't really want the whole public to see you doing it...

The second one and the last one of you are so so pretty!! And I love the happy ones with your Avatar set! Your hair is definitely getting higher! Love it!

Now Dante... I can't get over his huge, huge eyes. He's sucking away my soul with them! (My Geoffrey can do the same. He makes his eyes so huge I can't look away, and then he hypnotises me into giving him some extra food.) Is he white all over, with light shining through his pink ear-skin, or does he have some pinky-peachy colour on his ears and a bit on his face? He looks lovely, either way - I bet his fur's soft.

You know, I heard about how Kodak was originally calibrated to do that shit...and the only reason they changed it was not because they couldn't properly have photos of beautiful black & brown people but because (are you sitting down?) they couldn't get good photos of brown furniture.

I cannot make this shit up.

So yeah, if my Bleepy, however much I love her, is just simply calibrated to focus on white skin? And there's no way for me to fix it sans just getting a new, advanced, not-racist phone? Imma be pretty upset. :(

YES, Dante got dem huge ass sky blue eyes with little bits of green around his irises too, depending on the lighting. And you have a Geoffrey? You named a cat Geoffrey? Have you any idea how much I love your cats' names? Have you, friend? Dante is in fact not white all over. If you look back at the picture and focus on his forehead? Right above and between his eyes? That space there is actually not a shadow, but the beginnings of tabby-like orange that goes all the way down in a relatively straight line down his back. And then his tail is actually orange-and-yellow striped and it's so adorable! My mom loves his tail, hahaha! His ears, indeed, are ultra-ultra pink. Like...healthy pink-pink, yep! And oohhh, yes his fur is quite soft, thank you! :D

FURNITURE. TRULY. I don't know if my expectations of people were quiiiiite low enough before now, but they're getting there.

You have such a lovely smile and I love the way you wear your hairbands! Very stylish!

Dante's colouring sounds unusual and gorgeous! Seems like he's an orange striped cat who got really, really bleached out until only bits of him have any orange left. Too much sun on him? Fell in something in the laundry? He's not an ordinary, everyday sort of colour, anyway.

I posted about Monty today, with pictures. I'll let you know when I get some photos of Geoffrey up as well.

Umm...you know, that's so, so funny? Dante ended up coloring in the opposite direction of what you said. That is, when we got him when he was just a wee lil' newborn, he was completely white with dem big blue eyes. But as he grew older, THEN that orange coloring came in, haha!

I think your lighting will help with the selfies not looking so grainy. Good strong light falling on your face should hopefully get the camera to avoid using the flash.

Dante, on the other hand, is perfectly fine.

YES. You know, I took a mock-selfie this morning outside, before I set out for my walk (and yes, I still hate my little fuck of an inhaler). OMFG, Silver. The picture was so clear and you could see my frickin' hair, nose, and skin tone! So I shall be trying again soon enough! :D

And do you like Dante? Isn't he a wittle cutie? :D

Yes! Better selfie batch, indeed! Also, I took some pictures of him while outside just today! I see what you all mean about better lighting outside! Really made a difference! :D :D

They're mostly fine. Not quite optimal for Dance Dance Revolution playing, which is their main purpose (I've got my old, squeaky beat-up sneakers for running, and boots for everything else), but I imagine that's only until they're properly worn in. Thanks for asking!
