In no particular order:

We finally got our walk-in closets cleaned out! Whew! You never realize how many clothes and other shit that you still have holed up in your house until you clean it all out, put it in bags to take to Goodwill, and see how much it piles up your living room until the next day when you can finally go out to that Goodwill truck. Also, Goodwill? It’s beyond fucked up that your employees cannot accept tips for putting our donations up in the back of their truck.

Like…Goodwill. What in all the fucking hell? Every time I see how evil Capitalism is, I always think I’ve seen the worst until I come across more ugly shit like this. Ugh.

But! We finally finished our closets and, lo and behold! We can actually walk into our walk-in closets! We actually have frickin’ space in them! Imagine that! And our wittle Dante keeps going into our closets like, “Oohhh, look at all this new space to play and hide in and give Mama and Grandmama the scare of their lives! Yay!”

Next, speaking of Dante, we took the lil one to the vet for his annual check-up. Feast your eyes on the poor baby boy that hates everything and everyone at the vet and wants to kill everything and everyone in sight:

D’aaaw, my little one.

Thankfully, no one was killed. Yay! The vet was nice and she told us a story about how one couple years ago brought in a fucking feral cat that they’d only found an hour ago. And before her and the rest of the vet staff knew the cat was feral, that poor vet was chasing it around the hospital while she was fucking nine months pregnant and it was especially dangerous because that feral cat would, of course, jump at you, claws and teeth bared. Yikes!

But luckily, Dante was, err…as good a boy as he ever could be, hissing, swiping, and growling aside. He got his rabies vaccine, as well as a topical flea medicine. Yay! We’ve been seeing the fleas die off pretty quickly (gotta vacuum!) and he’s not scratching nearly as much! Woohoo! He’ll go to the vet again next year…and may we all survive.

Then, I voted on Super Tuesday/in the primaries!!!!

See our cutesy Georgia sticker and how I put it up against my Hamilton tote bag (Hamilton would be so proud of me!!!)? That’s a peach…even though my state ain’t a peach.

Hell, this whole fuckin’ country ain’ no peach, but I’m sleep, doe.

Then, after I voted, Mommy took us to one of our favorite stores that we like to do damage in: Christmas Tree Shop!

I pulled an Uncle Iroh and got some new jasmine tea to try (never had it before!) and Mommy also let me get a brand new tea/coffee cup that I just had to have because it’s so beautiful:

And on that Super Tuesday night, I confess to ya’ll that that jasmine tea was so delicious in my brand new, gorgeous tea cup that I had four cups of that in just that one night.

Four.

Cups.

Of.

Jasmine.

Tea.

Not a very good idea…I started getting kinda sleepy and I had quite a lot of writing to do that night, LOL!

But oohh, it’s so delish!

So that’s basically what happened this week! Spring cleaning, shopping and voting! Squee!

I'm so glad you had a lovely weekend like that! <3

Aw Dante. Visits are good for you, toasty-marshmallow cat!

(We did a TNR program at one point - trap, neuter, release. This involves a lot of feral cat handling. I feel for that vet! Particularly after Saba, one of our ferals, slashed a vet tech. We did tell him not to grab at her...)

Clean closets are a surprising pleasure.

And yayyyyy, voting!

It involves traps.
And leather gloves.
And lots of denim.

Or better yet, traps and the vet tranquilizing the kitty.

Yay voting! I like it that you get stickers! Our polling booth was out of stickers last election and I was disappointed - stickers are always nice.

My niece came to visit recently, and I offered her tea from my wide selection. I do have her current favourite, rooibos (it's my favourite too), but she asked first if I had any jasmine tea. I had to disappoint her! She thinks if Iroh likes it, it must be good.

Does it have an excessively perfume-like taste? I don't like Earl Grey tea because it tastes too much like perfume, and jasmine has a strong scent, so I'm not sure I'd enjoy jasmine tea if I bought some...

Also known as red bush tea - it's grown in South Africa and has a lovely deep red colour and a beautiful, slightly sweet taste. People say it's very nice with milk and sugar but I find it sweet enough so I just drink it clear and plain. And it's strong enough that one teabag can make two or three cups easily! It's my most comforting, delicious, soothing drink.

It's a pity they wrap the boxes in plastic so we can't go around sniffing tea on the shelf! But I think I'll have to buy some jasmine tea and test it out. I'll make a special event of it next time my niece is here :)

My partner will shake his head if I come home with another box of tea. "You already have HOW many different kinds of tea?!" Let's see, there's English breakfast, chai, rooibos, Blackadder (a mint and aniseed one which is my father's favourite), two flavoured green teas (mango and lime, lemon and ginger) which are nice chilled in hot weather, and a rosehip and hibiscus one which I've been taking to work... Not all that many! One more can't hurt!
