Firstly? Will ya’ll leave Lin alone and let this man have his God-given right to privacy in his personal life? Dear god, fandom. Get it together-respect and love to your favorite creators, actors, singers, etc. means acknowledging and adhering to their boundaries as decided by basic human decency!!!
In which Leslie Odom Jr. sings “Without You” from Rent and further fucks us all up with nary a regret. This man, I swear…
Lin won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama because of Hamilton! Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Go, Lin! I’m always oh-so very, very, very happy for this cast’s successes! They deserve all of that and more! :D :D
Critics, if you’re going to critique Hamilton, then you first have to understand it from the perspective that it is primarily fanfiction and what that genuinely means in all of its subversions and importance.
Red first introduced me to this! Daveed Diggs as the ultimate Superman? Huh? Huh?! Perfection, right? Absolute perfection?
Daveed Diggs is hot as hell. Dear god in heaven, look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now…
Daveed playing out “Haircut” from Hobbes and Me also featuring, uhh…some white guy. Hilarious!
OMFG, the Hamilton cast as the Avengers during Civil War?! Hell, that’ll make that ridiculous train wreck of a movie even more bearable just from that alone! I’m game!!!!
Epic photo of part of the cast. Epic…simply epic.
The main ladies of Hamilton pictured…click the link and you will find salvation.
The book Hamilton: The Revolution is now available! Ya’ll oughta know that I immediately put this on my Amazon wishlist. Yes, indeed I did.
Hamilton and its cast are getting nominated for a record number of Tonys! Uhh…one thing, though? They nominated Johnathan Groff for a Tony, the white guy that has only a few minutes on stage as King George III and not, say, Anthony Ramos or Oak. Uhh…well, I think we all know why. Ugh.
Awesome Hamilton fanart again!
More awesome Hamilton fanart!
Hilarious Hamilton fanart!
Bittersweet Hamilton fanart. Dear god in heaven…
Lin was on the Rachel Ray show, talking about writing his songs and how so many fans want him to write more for more subjects, like calculus! –SQUEEE!!!-
Wanna see all the Hamilton advertising posters that didn’t make the cut? Here ya go! My favorites are the “Old School ‘H’”, “The Exclamation Point”, and “The Hand and Quill”. What are your favorite ones? :D

Date: 2016-05-24 09:45 pm (UTC)It can also help make something clear about Superman that seems to get forgotten.
Please, remember that Superman is supposed to be someone who wasn't born "one of us" but is very much "one of us". He didn't have to be born here, he lives here and loves here and wants to make here a better place because of that. *THAT* is the American way.
So, a Superman that has to deal with being politely othered in his everyday life, but being whitewashed in the reporting and treatment of his heroics would be very true to the spirit of the Man of Tomorrow who, nonetheless, has battles to fight today.

Date: 2016-05-25 02:47 am (UTC)There's a roleplaying game I really like, Werewolf: The Apocalypse. One of the things I like most from that game is the differing ways of viewing morality. (Werewolves worship Gaia, a religion that is quite different from Christianity because Gaia is not a moral force, she is a force of life, loved and necessary, but more concerned for and needing balance than morality.) But, in one of the supplements, the Book of the City, there's a set of rules that city-dwelling werewolves use in addition to the laws for all werewolves.
In that is included "don't just fight evil, do good."
Sure, killing a thousand corrupted spirits will stop them from killing a few people and get people telling stories about you. But, finding the injustice that causes that corruption in the first place and righting it... that makes the real difference.

Date: 2016-05-24 09:58 pm (UTC)I like the Old School H and the Pose.
I can see why they went with what they did - it's really iconic, in a way that a lot of those aren't. The Pose in particular is gorgeous but yeah... too many words, too small, to be read quickly at a distance.
The one they went with reads as a symbol all its own, from a distance. That was a good choice.
