Did Ya'll Notice Something?

Note: I been wanting to say this for a while, now. And yes, I am hopelessly laughing.
Under my Blackout Day picture this time...I done stopped saying, "Hey, if you have any selfies, please share them in the comments!"
And y'know why? 'Cause almost ain't nobody ever share their selfies for Blackout Day in my comments.
And y'know why that is? Because so, so many of ya'll are white.
Whitey McWhite. Midwest White. Drink-Milk-Everyday-White. Cheese-Sandwich-White.
Ya'll can either get a tan in the sun or you outright burn in the sun. Hell, ya'll'd probably get sunburn from just the phone's camera flash if you tried to participate in Blackout Day.
So, so, so, so many of my blogging friends are white. Be it Dreamwdith, Ana Mardoll's Ramblings, or Shakesville...ya'll are all so white. I love and appreciate every last one of ya'll, but Jesus Christ. I've had this blog since 2011 and been hanging out at Ana Mardoll's since about 2008, but...how did it ever get to this point? My goodness.
I have a party over on Tumblr on Blackout Days, but I ain't got next to nobody over here to do Blackout Day with. My god.
Ain't nobody to do Blackout Day selfies with me over here. Ya'll are all so white.
-lolsob-
-still, truly laughing helplessly-

Date: 2016-12-10 02:33 am (UTC)And then you went down to Arizona...where that dry, dry desert heat that gets into the 100s is. Good lord in heaven. Why, that reminds me of way, way back in high school, we had a transfer student from Alaska come down here to Georgia. So heat and humidity, poor thing! She said it was like she stepped into Hades!
(And you are so pretty!! You remind me of those Edwardian ladies from way, way back in the day!!!)

Date: 2016-12-10 09:47 pm (UTC)Moving to Arizona was a bit of a climate shock. At least it was a dry heat (as they kept telling me)!
(And thank you! You are lovely as well, and it always brightens my day to see your selfies.)

Date: 2016-12-10 10:54 pm (UTC)And yeah, dry heat is a lot easier to deal with than humid heat, which is what we have over here in the east, haha!
(D'aaaaaaw, you're so very kind!!!)

Date: 2016-12-11 12:39 am (UTC)I have visited the East Coast a few times. I think my heat tolerance was better at that point. I think I would melt now!

Date: 2016-12-11 12:59 am (UTC)And d'aaw, that's okay! I'm sure I'd freeze up there in Alaska!! LOL!

Date: 2016-12-10 01:30 pm (UTC)I BURN and then maybe just maybe get a faint tan. Once the burns from hell go away that is. XD
Just call me a vampire. ;D I have the permanent shadows under my eyes, abhorrence of sunlight, sleeping during the day in my cavern-like bedroom, awake all night, burning in the sunlight, and perpetual thirst (for water not blood thankfully LOL!) to boot. XD Call me mister vampire. ;D I vant to suck jur blood (jk) :B
My boyfriend tans and doesn't really burn unless it's a really bad one. xD But he's not a black person, nor African American soooooo he can't really participate in #BlackOutDay either. O.o That's for black people and African Americans, rather than those who are Asian and Native American last I checked (he's half and half).
So we couldn't really participate over here unfortunately. XDD SORRY!
Your selfies are gorgeous though. :3 I wouldn't ever want to steal your thunder even if I was black. :3 I'd want you to shine in the spotlight. :D <3

Date: 2016-12-11 09:29 pm (UTC)But OMFG, please, please, please, please be careful, friend!! My goodness, I've never had a sunburn myself, but those ain't nothing to play with!!! Thank goodness that you had some aloe vera gel on hand, though!
And, well...actually, there are more and more blogging spaces becoming much more diverse by the minute. I guess I just...drew the lucky straw and go surrounded by so many white folks for friends. -lolsob-

Date: 2016-12-11 10:31 pm (UTC)My manager (who is Māori) told my young co-worker (also Māori) that he should be using sunscreen even though he's brown. Official messages from the health department, the Cancer Society, etc, always say the same. In reality, I don't think people use sunscreen if they don't usually burn. It must be easier to forget to put it on if there isn't terrible pain as a consequence. Little envious here that some people can go out in the sun!
