And she happened to call you on her birthday 'cause she was thinking about you. Ya'll giggle together.

And you ask her how old she is now, thinking that she's 18 while you're 25...but instead, she's actually 29 on this day and you forgot that you've been the baby cousin all along. Ya'll giggle together.

And ya'll talk about your rude, demanding, impossible cats that you can't live with, but can't live without. Ya'll giggle together.

And the conversation is only a few minutes and you're quietly overwhelmed because holy fucking shit, you missed her voice and you hope to see her face-to-face someday and, no, you really missed her voice. Ya'll giggle together.

And during the whole conversation, you're still so overwhelmed that you forget that it might be a good idea to exchange numbers until she brings it up first. You write down her number on a pad of paper like it's the lifesaver that it is, and then you give her your number in exchange.

And all the while ya'll are giggling together, you realize that you two giggle the. Exact. Same. Way.

It's been years upon years upon years, but shit ain't changed.

That feeling.
