TITLE: Update, 5/25/13

Hello, one and all!

Alas, it seems that I’m dead far-in-between my posts, aren’t I? I must sincerely apologize for that and my only excuse is lack of inspiration and slight burn-out brought on by college, work, and general stress.

But! Here are a few updates. Some are good and some are bad and all are me, haha!

First, the bad:

1. I was in a car accident back in November and, therefore, I do not have a car ( and will not get one until I have a job and can afford the payments).
2. I do not have a job yet as a medical assistant and am applying voraciously while trying to relax/calm down in the meantime.
3. My mother has been having severe back and neck pains. This keeps us from going out as we usually would, among other things. I really, really, really hate that she’s unable to do the things she most enjoys. Prayer cards and prayer cash accepted.
4. My friend hasn’t yet given me back my copy of Fifty Shades of Grey…so I’m not too sure if I can finish the deconstruction. *pouts*
5. Season 2 of the Legend of Korra has not aired yet, and I feel like pounding on Brian & Mike’s door and demand what the hell the hold-up is.
6. My best friendwho I caught up with via social media (after about two years apart), is going to be deployed to Afghanistan come August.


Secondly, the good:

1. I finally graduated with Honors on 5/2/13 as a medical assistant (MA). Unfortunately, I do not have pictures to share with you all. So sorry! (And yes, my mother took my Honor Cord and will use it as an accessory with a scarf, LOL!)
2. I passed my certification test (needed to be CMA). You’re damned straight I passed that crap: it cost $125, was 200 questions long, and I had to wake my mother up to take me to the testing site.
3. I caught up with my best friend who left for the army via social media. She’s in Kansas right now and enjoying herself for the most part and is not being deployed to Afghanistan until August. So…yay.
4. Another friend of mine has applied to the Air Force. Since she needs to get down to a certain weight, I and a few other girls joined a Zumba (Zuuuuuuuuuumbaaaaaaa!!!) class with her.
5. I and my mother still have a roof over our heads, food in our stomach, and food in our cat’s stomach, and a great doctor/health-insurance combination that’s allowing her to get the treatment she needs.
6. I still have Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Complete Book 1 collection on DVD to hold me over until the second season of Korra comes out.
7. The Ariel Levy Essential Questions shall continue!
8. I have an unhealthy addiction to Fred Clark on Patheos/Slactivist and I don’t care who knows it. (Seriously, I could read that man’s blog all day long and forget to clean house in my fascination and cheering).
9. My sister, after 6+ years at the same company, finally got a decent raise.
10. President Obama is still my president.

Congratulations on your achievements! Hopefully the accident didn't leave any traumas as yet undiscovered.

The news on our front is that it's mostly the same, which has good aspects and worse aspects. I don't blog as much as I should, but I get to at least be a decent commenter.

Oh, thank you, Silver! And, no; I and the people in the other car left without a scratch. As my mother said, "At least it was the car, and not you."

And no worries! Being a decent commenter has its perks! You and I are in the same boat. *winks*

The sage advice I always got is "Cars are replaceable. People are not." So we can thank the engineers responsible for safety that their calculations and designs were effective.

YES! And thank goodness for airbags, too! As soon as I get a job (I've just applied to 4 alone today), Mommy and I are taking a whole day off with my Godparents to go car shopping. She's holding onto the down payment and I'm going to be paying the monthly payments; that's our deal and I'm excited and rearing to go! :D

Hooray for automotive independence for you. And good luck in the job hunt - it usually takes a while, and a lot of companies simply don't respond unheard they want you to have an interview.

*takes several deep, deep breaths* Oh, yes! I'm working hard on being patient (like playing computer games when the anxiety gets too much) and being resilient.

I just hope I don't clam up during the interview...x_x

You'll be fine. Possibly rejected a couple times, but you'll succeed. You've got the talent for it, and the training now, too.

Aww! Thank you so, so much! I actually just go a call back from a place that I contacted. They don't have any open positions now, but they gave me the fax number for my resume. Goddess bless my mother for faxing it for me at work. v.v
