I Made Halloween Treats for My Class
Monday, October 2nd, 2017 09:28 pmNote: I put this on my Tumblr, too.
It slipped my mind to take any pictures (dangit), but last night, I finished making my entire nursing class and teachers wittle Halloween treat bags. I was so nervous to get up in front of everyone at the end of class and announce that I made it for them, but it was more than worth it.
I started with how I knew we were all freakin’ stressed as hell, Fall/Halloween is one of my favorites, and that I had something to share with/give to them.
They saw the bright-orange Halloween bags Mom had me take all 40+ treats in and when I pulled out one of the treat bags to show them? There was this huge, collective “Awww” going all through the class followed by, “That’s so sweet, Amarie! That’s so nice! Wow!”
It was fun passing them out as everyone was also getting ready to leave. Just a lot of choruses of “Thank you!” Just “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” over and over again.
I’ve had a long, shitty two weeks (hint, hint: my fuck ass sister and her toddler stayed with us for two straight weeks...jolly), and...it feels good to share. It feels good to make people smile. Just give people a little something to enjoy. Just a little something.
It feels good.

Date: 2017-10-04 05:39 pm (UTC)Ohh, you wanna know what I put in the bags?! -SQUEE!!- Well, Mommy and I bought those cello-neck Halloween bags, two trays of 21 Halloween-themed cookies (well, one tray is yellow-sugar cookie smiley faces and the other one is more Halloween themed, with its yellow and orange frosting), a Fall/Halloween-season themed wittle snack-sized cookies (4 sets of those were wittle orange pumpkins!!), and then we bought from Target two bags of 40 pieces of chocolate bite-sized candy that included twix, musketeers, snickers, dove chocolate, and even more musketeers, haha.
Well...the bigger cookies actually couldn't fit inside past the bags' narrow cello-necks, y'know? We were like, oh crap, and thought of cutting them in half to fit them in there, but, like...then we were like that don't nobody wanna get a cookie that's already broken in half, y'know?
But we worked it out and decided to instead share those 21 sets of big sugar cookies with my speech class! So that's what Imma do today-Imma bring in those cookies for them! Yay! :D
So the first 30+ bags, I got to randomly assort and put in 2 of the wittle seasonal sugar cookies and three of the chocolate candies. I tried to be as random as possible...but a LOT of people got at least one musketeers bars, LOL!
Towards the end, I still had about 12 bags left, but only a handful of wittle sugar cookies and chocolate candies left. Yikes! Well, you know that Mommy works night, so she left super early to buy me just two more big ass bags of candy! One bag was nothing but skittles and the other held whoppers, mike (milk?) duds, and kit kat bars! I thanked her profusely and then quickly filled the rest of the bags with those!
So not everybody got a wittle cookie, but everyone got plenty of candy to fill their hearts this season. It was a lot of work (and on a test-in-the-morning night), but I'm so very glad I could do it for them and I regret nothing!

Date: 2017-10-06 01:46 am (UTC)But naw, I don't think they'll repay me that way and I wouldn't expect them to-we're all so busy and bogged down to hell and back. It's alright. And! My speech class kinda sorta liked the sugar cookies I brought in, teehee! :D

Sometimes not having to put up with family / guests anymore is exactly what I needed. ^^; I hope you are feeling better now that that's done with for now.
