Oh yeah! They decided to now do Blackout...quarterly, I think? Just so that way the movement/event doesn't get burnt out and no one wants to do it anymore.

I'm still amazed that putting seasoning on chicken is such a thing. Cultural blinkers, ahoy.

Edit: Wait, I dunno if you live in the suburbs, but the battle over seasoning chicken is ESPECIALLY brutal over there. Lawdeh.

C, a friend I have from college, taught me all I know about it, and it was never a question about whether chicken needed seasoning. He recommended seasonings in the flour when you dredge for fried chicken.

(In all seriousness: My mama taught me to put just a dash of meat tenderizer or seasoned salt in the flour when you're about to do chicken tenders. YUM.)

Hrm. Cracked black pepper and any other finely chopped or preferred spices. Could never figure out how to get the batter to stick, though.

Uh oh! Why won't the batter stick? Have you tried adding an egg (or two, depending on the size of your batter) to the mix? D:

Tried to dredge in egg first, then in the flour mix. Didn't quite work out.

That's different from what we deal with. Around here, we just get regular all-purpose flour, put it in a freezer bag, and put some seasoning (again, that meat tenderizer or seasoned salt) in it. And then, after we thaw our meat by letting it sit in water for a while and then rinsing it off, we just let the water act as the adhesive. :O
